Coquitlam Gets Late One To Tame Grizzlies

Coquitlam, BC ~ Nolan Flynn scored at 19:46 of the third period to lift the Coquitlam Express to a tight-checking 1-0 win over the Victoria Grizzlies on Saturday night at the Poirier Sport & Leisure Centre in Coquitlam.

The game included very low-action hockey as the two teams battled back and forth in a game that seemed to have a puck-battle every three seconds.

Flynn’s tally was his fifth of the season, while his teammate Ryan Parker picked up his second shutout of the season. Carter Capton made 30 saves on 31 shots in the Grizzlies’ crease.

Victoria went 0/3 on the power play while the Express went 0/4.

Victoria is back in action next week on the mainland, starting on Friday in Chilliwack.
