The (1-1-0) Victoria Grizzlies ruined the (2-0-0) Powell River Kings home opener by defeating the Kings 3-1.
In the first period it was quiet until 18:56 where Myles Fitzgerald would put one past Jonah Imoo assisted by Jesse Schwartz.
More action in the second period first Victoria’s Jesse Schwartz from Mackie and Albertini but within 30 seconds the Kings would get their first goal scored by Turman Gonzales. To end the second period on the powerplay Myles Fitzgerald assisted by his two brothers would give Victoria the 3-1 lead heading into the third.
And in the final twenty minutes the star of the period was Grizzlies goaltender Nic Renyard kicking away 10 shots in the third period alone to get the win 3-1.
The Grizzlies are back in action Saturday against the Powell River Kings at Hap Parker Arena.
