Victoria, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies announced on Friday morning that they have signed 2007 born Arizona State committed forward; George Lovell for the 2025-26 BCHL season.
George spent the 2024-25 season split between Lovell Academy Blue U18AAA in Massachusetts and partially with the Penticton Vees (BCHL) as a call up for six games in late November and early December. Lovell scored 14 goals and added 45 points in 29 games with Lovell Academy this year and did not register a point during his six games in the BCHL.
George committed to Arizona State University this past mid December and it is not hard to see why the Sun Devils were quick to sink their claws into the smaller sized forward. He stands at just five foot six but the Hingham, Massachusetts native bolsters elite; speed, edge work, playmaking ability and hockey IQ.
Lovell will join the Grizzlies with a little bit of familiarity as former teammates and friends with current Grizzlies defenseman and Massachusetts native Denny Monahan.
