Victoria, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies are proud to announce the signing of 2005 born defenseman; Vincent Palmarin for the 2024-25 season.
“Vinny” joins the Grizzlies after coming all the way up through the Notre Dame Hounds system starting from U15 AAA all the way up until last year where he wore the A for the junior A club.
“I have been playing at Notre Dame my whole life so a fresh nice with something new will be nice,” said Palmarin.
Vinny was an integral part of the Hounds squad last year where he was the alternate captain (as previously mentioned), and pitched in with 5 goals and 15 points in 38 games.
“I certainly earned my stripes,” he would add, “I learned that games are never finished and the physical aspect is probably the biggest lesson I take from my time there.”
Palmarin is another big bodied D-man who stands at 6’2 and 205 pounds. He joins a Grizzlies D-core and roster that bolsters unprecedented size.
“I am a gritty, reliable and trustworthy player. I train as hard as I can off the ice. Obviously nothing beats on the ice but I believe I benefit from giving it my all in the gym,” Vinny commented after being asked about himself as a player and competitor.
Vinny is one of four new announced defenseman for the Grizzlies as Victoria boasted a veteran group during the 2023-24 season. The downfalls of that aforementioned veteran group is filling the void they leave behind after graduating/moving on to school. Palmarin, Dan D’Alessandro, Daniil Dolzhenko and Dennison Monahan are 4 new recruits looking to replace; Nathan King, Tim Busconi, Ty Waram, Deven Nagra and Ranvir-Gill Shane.
Welcome to Bear Country Vinny!
