The Victoria Grizzlies are proud to announce that Equipment Manager John Smith has been named the BCHL Equipment Manager of the Year for a third consecutive season.
The recognition once again highlights the commitment, professionalism, and care that Smith brings to the Grizzlies organization every single day.
In junior hockey, equipment managers are often the unsung heroes behind the scenes. For the Grizzlies, Smith’s impact goes far beyond preparing jerseys and sharpening skates. His commitment to creating a professional environment for the players and staff has helped establish one of the premier dressing rooms in the BCHL.
“John truly is the best in the business,” said Grizzlies President David Michaud. “He goes above and beyond every single day to make sure our players are looked after. The standard he sets creates a professional environment that makes life easier for our staff and allows our players to focus on doing their jobs on the ice.”
Whether it is long road trips, late nights after games, extra preparation behind the scenes, or ensuring every player has what they need to succeed, Smith’s work ethic and attention to detail have become a major part of the culture inside the Grizzlies dressing room.
The back-to-back-to-back recognition from around the BCHL is a reflection not only of Smith’s dedication, but also the respect he has earned throughout the league.
The Victoria Grizzlies congratulate John Smith on another well-deserved honour and thank him for his continued commitment to the organization, its players, and the West Shore community.
